Contemporary figurative explorations that reference the classical sensitivity of Michelangelo and Da Vinci's drawings. Mr. Rush begins with a traditionally gessoed wood completely covered with a warm sienna oil pigment, then uses rags and brushes in a subtractive process, drawing from live models. The result is a series of very intimate views of stolen moments.
