Waiting for Happiness

• 6pm: Documentaries and Films from Africa: Waiting for Happiness at Emory's White Hall 208. In this film directed by Abderrahmane Sissako, seventeen year old Abdallah visits his mother in the small coastal town of Nouadhibou before he emigrates to Europe. He is unable to speak the local language and therefore feels like an outcast, 404.727.6123
• 7pm: A Sample of Writing by William Saroyan at Emory's Schwartz Center will be performed. The staged reading features selections from William Saroyan's other fiction and essays related to the themes in The Time of Your Life.
