See Black Orpheus at Emory

  • 7:15 pm: Georgia Center for the Book presents Cathy J. Kaemmerlen at the Decatur Library. A local performer and storyteller, Kaemmerlen has produced a wonderful collection of stories about Georgia's Steel Magnolias, who were both dignified and defiant as General Sherman marched his troops through their homelands. General Sherman and Georgia Belles include the tales of Mary Ann Harris Gay of Decatur and Minerva McClatchey of Mariette, 404.370.3070
  • 8 pm: Emory's White Hall 208 hosts a viewing of Black Orpheus. French director Marcel Camus earned the Palme d'Or at the Canne Film Festival for his dazzling film version of the play by the noted Brazilian composer-poet Vinicius de Moraes, 404.727.6123
  • 8 pm: Eddie's Attic presents Tyler James, Andy Davis and Gregory Douglass, 404.377.4976
