Will Scruggs performs at Oakhurst

  • 6pm: Emory's Robert W. Woodruff Library hosts Galway Kinnell Poetry Reading. American poet Galway Kinnell's writing career spans more than five decades. In 1983 he received both the Pulitzer Prize and theh Nation Book Award for Selected Poems. In 2002 he was awarded the Frost Medal for Lifetime Achievement by the Poetry Society of American, 404.727.6861
  • 7-9pm: Jazz Nights at Scottish Rite return with its free concert program. Will Scruggs and Audrey Shakir perform. At only 26 years of age, saxophonist, vocalist and band leader Will Scruggs is one of the most exciting young artists on the jazz scene today.
  • 7pm: The Carlos Museum hosts Janine Antoni in Mindfulness, Love and the Creative Process. Antoni is a practicing Buddhist and a celebrated, innovative visual artist known for using her own body in the making of her art. Sharon Salzberg, a prominent teacher and mentor of the Buddhist community, will conduct a dialogue exploring how the qualities of mindfulness and love, as deepened through meditation, enhance the creative process, 404.727.4282
