Decatur Arts Festival Update

As the official event planners for the Decatur Arts Festival, people are constantly telling us how great our jobs are - sitting around, planning a weekend-long party/festival. While this is true most of the time, once in a while we actually have to do some work. For example, we're currently organizing the 140+ artists participating in the Artists Market, creating the Festival Program, finding sponsors, lining up the music acts, marketing, mapping out artists tents... Of course we couldn't do any of this without our great Arts Fest committee. Nevertheless, the point is that planning for the 19th Annual 2007 Decatur Arts Festival is well under way. Here are some behind the scene shots from the Decatur Arts Festival office as proof:

Artists correspondence.
Almost everything is done online, thanks to zapplication.org, but once in a while we have to use the ol' envelope/letter technique.

(Hint: the odd rectangular shape in the center is the Old Courthouse on the Square, the little boxes are the artists' tents and the blobs with x's are trees).

So there you have it. We are constantly updating the website, so check it out every once in a while to get more details on the festival. Soon to come is a complete listing of the festival's artists and ArtWalk participants, www.decaturartsalliance.org.

I've been told that I must keep this comment appropriate, and so will avoid all references to trepanation, circumcision, human sacrifice, werewolves, communion, and peeps. Those excluded, these festivals do sound exciting
