Drama Queens at Theatre Decatur

  • 7 pm: Eddie's Attic presents Caroline Aiken and Young Friends, 404.377.4976
  • 7:15 pm: Georgia Center for the Book hosts author Deborah Rodriguez. Don't miss hearing Rodriguez tell her amazing story of how she gave up her job in Detroit to open a salon and cosmetology school in Kabul, Afghanistan. In Kabul Beauty School: An American Woman Goes Behind the Veil, Rodriguez tells why she opened the salon and school and how she and other brave women of Kabul continue to resist the resurgent opressive Taliban, 404.370.3070
  • 8 pm: Theatre Decatur presents its Festival of New Plays with Drama Queens. The festival features new works by three of Atlanta's premier women playwrights, directed by three of Atlanta's finest women directors.   • 8 pm: Agnes Scott's Studio Dance Theater presents Spring Forward: A Celebration of Dance at Presser Hall, Gaines Chapel, 404.471.6430
  • 8 pm: Color: A Spectrum of Sound concert at Emory's Schwartz Center. Emory University and Scott Stewart, the Director of Emory's Wind Ensemble, invite you to a night of music and color. Thanks for kind words! If you want a really convincing excuse to come to Decatur, how about The Decatur Arts Festival on Memorial Day Weekend? All the activities are free and open to the public, so even with the high gas prices you can still have some good, cheap, artsy fun!
